Cervical Cancer and Pap Smears

The prevention and treatment of cervical cancer is one of the biggest success stories in the war against cancer. In the United States alone, there are approximately 15,000 new cases diagnosed annually, and some 4,600 women die each year from the disease. With the wide-spread use of Pap tests, however, early detection of cervical cancer and its successful cure are becoming more common.
